This past weekend, I earned a slot to pitch to a literary agent, a fantastic next step in the publishing process. I believe in paying my dues and taking all the next steps. Great encounter. Part of the panel discussion included this: the novel I write five years from now won't be anything like the first novel I've written. Progress.
Post conference update: The agent I pitched to at the writers conference stated she expects a
novel a year for the first five years from her new clients.
