Ildebrando= great actor. There is nothing, nothing, nothing of Don Giovanni in this scene. Same holds true for the entire opera. He disappears into a character. Thanks to Staatsoper Berlin Unter Den Linden Schiller Theatre and photographer Matthias Baus.

The first time I saw the photo below, I thought wow, does Ildebrando fall through the chair? I bet the insurers don't like the risk. He and Anna Prohaska crawl through the canvas back of the chair. The staging leaves insurers free to think about racing goggles.
